The visiting team has to face challenges and they encourage the team to bear it. The Pakistan cricket team has active covid-19 cases and fears that the virus could spread further, she said, adding that the New Zealand government's top priority is public health, which includes individuals and teams. The Pakistan cricket team was scheduled to be allowed to train three days later, but the permission was suspended on the first day of the test after nine people tested positive and violated the SOP.

Later, in the third and fourth day tests, positive cases were also reported from Pakistan squad. In total, the tests of 9 members of Pakistan squad were positive, out of which 3 are active and 2 are hysterical cases. Active cases are quarantined separately from the squad. Five people who tested positive did not retest. On the other hand, in the fourth routine test on the ninth day, the results of all the five members have been negative. The isolation phase of Pakistan cricket team is to be completed on December 8. Before that, on the twelfth day the test report will come on Sunday, after that clear people will be eligible to travel to Queenstown. According to sources, the Pakistan team management contacted senior officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board and discussed the situation arising out of not being allowed to train in New Zealand, while the PCB has decided to reconsider the matter.

Sources said that a meeting of top PCB officials has been convened and it has been decided to contact New Zealand as well. It is to be noted that so far 9 members of Pakistan are completing their isolation period on a separate floor.
